From Honolulu to Durango

Founded in 1991 by Glen Tomlinson, the Home of the Brave began as a tour company dedicated to preserving the legacy of Pearl Harbor and its veterans. Over the years, Tomlinson amassed a vast collection of WWII artifacts, stories, and memorabilia, which evolved into a small museum in Honolulu’s Kaka‘ako district. In 2014, he introduced a craft brewery within the museum, creating the Home of the Brave Brewseum—a unique space where visitors could sip small-batch beers surrounded by WWII uniforms, aviation instruments, and a restored 1945 Ford Jeep featured in the film Pearl Harbor.

The Brewseum became a vibrant hub for veterans, locals, and tourists, blending craft beer with military history. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced its closure in 2020. Determined to keep the legacy alive, Tomlinson relocated the collection to Durango, where his son, Baron “Bear” Tomlinson, is helping to build a new chapter at Bears Ranch.

A New Vision at Bears Ranch

The campus will include a museum, a restaurant serving local cuisine, and cabins for overnight guests. This setup aims to attract younger generations by making history engaging and interactive, ensuring the stories of WWII veterans endure.

“We want visitors to feel history, not just read about it,” says Glen Tomlinson. The Brewseum’s mission remains steadfast: to honor veterans through storytelling, community, and craft beer.
