Cheers to Gloria Ferrer – one of our favorite sparkling wine labels in Napa Valley.

Visit the winery to discover these exceptional wines firsthand. Enjoy a tour of the vineyards and production area, and indulge in unique tasting experiences that vary by location. It’s the perfect way to deepen your appreciation for these elegant wines.

Schramsberg was the first American sparkling wine served at a White House state dinner.
Schramsberg Vineyards
Back in 1965, Jack and Jamie Davies set out to create America’s most prestigious sparkling wine with Schramsberg Vineyards. The couple officially achieved success in 1972, when a bottle of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs became the first American sparkling wine served at a White House state dinner. Since then, every president has poured Schramsberg at one point or another.
The charming property Schramsberg calls home is in Calistoga. The brand takes its name from its original owner, Jacob Schram, a German immigrant who purchased the land and started making wine there in the 1860s. Jack and Jamie’s son, Hugh, who was coincidentally born in 1965, oversees the winemaking today.
Although the team offers several tastings, we recommend booking one that includes a cave tour.
Dug in 1870 by Chinese laborers, it’s Napa’s original hillside wine-aging cave. Schramsberg stores its bottles in the caves today, and a fact-filled tour allows you to feel the region’s rich history.
An interesting piece of trivia: one of the reasons Schramsberg’s fizz is more decadent and luscious than other bubbles is that 25% of the juice is fermented in oak barrels. The resulting wine is complex, balanced and refined.

Discover Iron Horse Vineyards – a standout in Sonoma County’s sparkling wine scene.
Iron Horse Vineyards is one of the most prolific sparkling wine producers in the region. Its rustic charm and enchanting atmosphere differ from the more refined Napa wineries, making it uniquely attractive.
Founded in 1976 by Audrey and Barry Sterling, the estate defied the belief that Western Sonoma was too cold for wine production. The Sterlings pioneered Green Valley AVA, recognizing that cooler Sonoma climate is perfect for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Today, their children continue to run the certified sustainable and regenerative winery, overlooking a stunning valley.
Iron Horse offers a variety of sparkling wines, from late-disgorged bruts to classic pink champagne. The casual tastings often take place outside around wine barrels. It’s one of the few wineries where you can enjoy a picnic — outside food is welcome.
Reservations are required for both tastings and picnic tables.

Experience French Tradition at Roederer Estate
Roederer Estate is California’s branch of the renowned French champagne house, Louis Roederer. Since 1982, it has focused on terroir-driven bubbles that showcase Mendocino’s Anderson Valley.
French influence is strong here: the estate has had only two winemakers, both French. Sustainability is a priority—25% of the vineyard acres are farmed by the estate, and all grapes are grown on-site.
This year, Roederer opened a new hospitality center with stunning vineyard views. Take a sparkling wine tour to see how their exceptional wines are made and get a behind-the-scenes look at the winery. When hungry, try small bites like Marcona almonds, duck rillettes, or local caviar from their kitchen.
Discover Gloria Ferrer
Before Domaine Carneros, the Ferrers family—behind Freixenet, the famous Spanish cava brand—founded Gloria Ferrer in 1984 in Carneros. The winery is sustainably operated, with a strong focus on green practices, conservation, and biodiversity.
Visit the tasting room perched on a hill overlooking the valley, surrounded by beautiful olive trees that evoke Catalonia. The great news: you don’t need a reservation to enjoy a glass of Royal Cuvee Rose.
For those wanting a culinary experience, reservations are required for brunch and other tastings. The menu features tapas, charcuterie, and Spanish-inspired dishes like gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp).
