Experience Elevated Travel with MWR LIFE
Luxury Travel Innovation
A private jet charter and fractional ownership leader is expanding, now offering a Caravan turboprop and amphibious float plane. This allows well-heeled clients to access smaller airports or remote destinations with no airports at all, enhancing convenience and exclusivity.
Recent Developments
JSX, known for its semi-private flights, is part of this movement. These new options cater to the unique needs of the very wealthy, ensuring seamless travel to exclusive or hard-to-reach locations.
Why It Matters
As Alasdair Pritchard from Knight Frank explains, “When clients buy their third, fourth, or even fifth home, the key question is: Can I land my jet nearby?” This consideration influences property choices. To meet this demand, professionals help clients explore alternatives, such as helicopter access at nearby airports or private airstrips on large estates.
Full Private Experience
For those seeking ultimate privacy, FlyExclusive—initially focused on jet fractional shares, jet cards, and on-demand charters—is now launching charter flights using an amphibious float plane and Caravan turboprop. This expands options for luxury travel without compromise.

Last-Mile Travel Options
Wheels Up, in partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways, makes reaching your destination easy and seamless—sometimes even landing on the beach. This service helps members access hard-to-reach locations like remote islands and private beaches.
Growing Demand from the Ultra-Wealthy
Knight Frank reports that ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWs) are increasingly buying third, fourth, and fifth homes in remote or difficult-to-access areas. They are turning to propeller aircraft and helicopters for convenient travel.
Wheels Up and Tropic Ocean Airways
Wheels Up has expanded its partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways, in which it holds a minority stake. This enables members to fly to more than 70 smaller airports in Florida, the Bahamas, and the Northeast U.S., including the Hamptons, Lake Placid, Fire Island, Sunset Beach, Montauk, and Block Island.
Last-Mile Travel Trends
“We see increasing interest in turboprops, seaplanes, and helicopters—it’s a trend that matches the options we’ve been developing,” says Wheels Up CEO George Mattson.
He adds, “Our members can combine long-range private flights with a final leg on a wheeled or amphibious Cessna Caravan EX for a luxury, seamless experience.”
Flexjet Expands Its Service
Flexjet is growing its last-mile helicopter service for fractional jet owners by acquiring rotorcraft companies in both the U.S. and England.
In 2023, Flexjet received approval to operate year-round helicopter flights between Florida and the Bahamas, expanding from seasonal service.
Eli Flint, President of Flexjet Vertical Lift, states, “Our clients now expect to access off-airport destinations wherever possible—whether that’s from Florida to the Bahamas or the Florida Keys.”

Explore More with Personalized Aviation Solutions
Flexjet offers its fractional private jet clients access to helicopter services in the Northeastern U.S., England, and South Florida. This provides ultimate flexibility for last-minute trips or remote destinations.
Expanding Footprints
Long-standing private and shared turboprop operators are growing, focusing on cost-effective options and to reach airports jets can’t access.
Tradewind Aviation added a Florida base in 2023 for charter flights and scheduled service from Stuart to the Bahamas. Like JSX, it offers** individual seats** on scheduled flights and uses private terminals to avoid crowded airports and long lines.
PlaneSense has increased its jet card offerings, allowing owners to fly Pilatus PC-12 turboprops with just 25 hours purchase. It also expanded service to the West Coast in 2021, opening a maintenance facility near Las Vegas to support increased flights.
SkyShare offers a days-based fractional program on preowned PC-12s, targeting customers in Western U.S. states. It introduced a lower-cost entry-level program, making remote travel more accessible for business flyers needing multiple daily stops.
Short-Runway Access
The PC-12 aircraft is famous for its ability to land on short runways and even grass airstrips, making it ideal for remote and private destinations.
New Initiatives
FlyExclusive is launching a Caravan and amphibious float plane in Miami to connect travelers directly to island destinations and private beaches—no runway needed.
Chairman Jim Segrave states, “Our new float plane and Caravan expand access to remote island locations and private waterfront properties.”
Beyond Second Homes
Air Charter Service is building a helipad and terminal at Silverstone race track near London, hosting over 1,500 flights during the British Grand Prix. The helicopter shuttles save travelers hours compared to scheduled flights, especially for international guests.
Technology Boost
Linear Air Taxi CEO William Herp highlights recent innovations, like the Cirrus SR Series G7+, the world’s first piston aircraft with FAA-approved autonomous emergency landing. The short runway capability (as low as 3,000 feet) makes piston aircraft a practical and cost-effective alternative to jets.
Herp notes that customers are now more comfortable choosing piston props if they get them faster and closer to their destination.
Linear has about 700 piston aircraft available for $750 to $2,500 hourly, plus fees for repositioning. It remains more affordable than chartering a jet.
Growing Demand
Mattson from Wheels Up remarks, “As demand for personalized, experiential travel increases, these aircraft and partnerships will be vital for last-mile solutions.”
Catering to Everyone
Not everyone needs or can afford a private jet. JSX is expanding for the everyday traveler with plans for up to 25 turboprops from ATR Aircraft, starting later this year.
This will add 1,000 more airports across the U.S., beyond the current Embraer jets, offering by-the-seat private flights at lower prices—often under $500.
CEO Alex Wilcox states, “Many airports were previously only for the privileged few.” No airports have been chosen yet, but this initiative aims to make private-like travel more accessible.
